A private space to open up dialogue among journalists, directly-impacted people, and grassroots organizers
Hey y’all! Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: The ChangeWire subscriber chat.
At the heart of the ChangeWire Substack is a desire to open up a dialogue between journalists, directly-impacted people and grassroots organizers. Through our newsletter, we’ve shared behind-the-scenes from our fellows and other contributors that dive into why they feel the stories they tell here are important, what status-quo narratives they’d like to debunk, and ideas for folks working in the media about how they can improve their coverage to better tell the fuller picture of low-income folks’ lives.
It’s been amazing to see the positive feedback from both journalists who subscribe to our newsletter to find great sources and from the storytellers who’ve been given a platform to make their voices heard.
With this new chat conversation space, I’m hoping to keep that feedback loop open. The chat is exclusively for ChangeWire subscribers and acts kind of like a group chat. That said, I’ve posted my first prompt question and would love to hear what you think!
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens.
Thanks for being here!
How to get started
Subscribe to ChangeWire if you aren’t already!
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
